Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit dem Berufsbild des wissenschaftlichen Bibliothekars aus historischer Perspektive. In ihr wird in chronologischer Weise die Entwicklung der verschiedenen Anschauungen zu Aspekten wie Ausbildung und Tätigkeitsspektrum beschrieben. Als Untersuchungsmaterial dienen thematisch einschlägige Publikationen von ca. 1800 bis heute. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt der Beziehung des Bibliothekswesens zur Wissenschaft sowie dem Selbstverständnis des Bibliothekars in diesem Kontext. Thematisiert wird unter anderem die traditionell „hybride“ Position des Fachreferenten als Mittler zwischen den beiden Sphären; plädiert wird (im Schlussteil) für neue Formen der Kooperation mit den Fachbereichen der Hochschule – unter Wahrung des eigenen Profils.
Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt eine Marktuntersuchung der Portraitfotografie in Deutschland und in China. Dazu ist eine Umfrage erforderlich. Da eine repräsentative Befragung Grundgesamtheit „Bevölkerung Deutschlands“ im Rahmen einer Diplomarbeit nicht möglich ist, soll eine Internetumfrage durchführt werden. Hierbei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Marktentwicklung und Zukunftchancen der Portraitfotoindustrie in Deutschland.
